San Diego

Hey Ya'll!

This post is dedicated to the fun we had with wonderful people in San Diego. We were so fortunate to spend a few days with family and friends doing some exciting things.

Deep sea fishing with Dick and Greg Dale. Thanks to these guys, we had a wonderful last voyage on the Pacific.

We caught many yellow tale and Greg caught the beautiful Dorado that matched my sunglasses.

Dinner at the Dale's was delicious. Greg cooked the Dorado and Lenore made lava cakes.

Pool party at Grandma Betty's with the Ketelsens.

Chato and cousin Shawna boogie boarding.

                                                      Granny. She's just too cute.

                                                                  The Arbaughs.

Granny, Uncle Bill, Aunty Jan and Hank.

Thanks to Aunty Jan and Uncle Bill, we enjoyed a day at the San Diego Zoo.

San Diego was a great time with family and friends. Thanks to all those we saw, we have wonderful memories to think upon while far away.

Love to all, next stop Arizona and New Mexico!

California

Hey All!
We have done quite a few things in our travels trying to leave California... After we left Tahoe, we stopped for a night in Kingsburg to spend one more day with our newest niece, Lyla Jane. It was nice to see the Chew family and have just a moment longer to gaze at this beauty:

I think "Hunkle" is a fan....

In Ketelsen tradition, we've made a few songs up....

                                                                    Watch her face....

After Kingsburg, we left to spend a night in L.A. with a few of our favorite people. Thank you Andrea Froyum, Richard Bussey and John Dale for taking the time to hang with us!

Daisy and Andrea. Besties for 20+ years!

Hank and Bussey. Love at first sight. Thanks for the jokes, Bussey!

Love in the next blog from San Diego!

Another Adventure!

Dear Friends and Family,
It's been four years since our last blog. Time has flown by... But, as we embark on another new adventure, we thought we'd keep our world at the click of your fingers....
Hank will be attending Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) this fall! So, we have packed up our belongings and now we begin our journey to GA. We will take our time getting there so we can see the sights and friends along the way. This blog is to document our travels and share pictures of the adventure. It pays to travel with a professional photographer! If the photos are not epic, Daisy took them...
We will try to blog daily for the next two weeks and then we'll continue while in Georgia monthly to keep our loved ones up to date on Southern life so check in whenever you want a taste of fried chicken.

As we have prepared to leave for Savannah, Georgia we have had a few fun days we'd like to share:

A special thanks to Mary Moore for a wonderful pool party. We are so grateful to have had the time with our friends and family.

We then went to an A's vs. Royals game with Daisy;s parents and Jay-Bird. Unfortunately, the A's lost but the game was very exciting down to the last pitch. We ate the following: nachos, monster corn dog, pretzel, peanuts, jalapeño poppers, cheeseburger poppers and then went for pizza afterward. Also, exciting down to the last bite! Following the game, they were kind enough to provide a lovely firework show for us. It was a very enjoyable event!

We drove to Tahoe for one last look at the lake and a bite at Bert's Café. We had a great time seeing friends and family in our home town before the leave.

We also got a glimpse of this amazing vehicle...

Adíos Madre y Padre! Chato will miss you.

Our next stop, Kingsburg....

Love and see ya'll!

Home Sweet Home

Hola Friends,
Hank and I are so happy to be home but to be honest, I would hop on the next plane and continue traveling! We enjoyed the holidays with out families and the skiing has been terrific! Hank and I clocked ourselves skiing on our second day of the season with GPS thingys. I clocked 61.2 and Hank at 71.9. It was awesome. By the end of season, I plan to beat 100mph! Miss all of our travel buddies and hope you all had a fabulous holiday season in new and exciting places! Can't wait to hear all about it!
Love, H&D

To our dear old friends...

Dearest Ryan,

What fun we had with you! Meeting you in Cuzco and hiking the never ending stair master was a truly unforgettable adventure! You are a trooper and your attitude along the way was something to learn from. You're too much fun! We may not have many opportunities to hike a lot of stairs together but I think we hiked enough in one day to last a lifetime! Thank you for sharing this adventure with us and being such a fun travel buddy!

The Old Friends cont...

Chelsea, Abe and Mone- Thanks for letting us crash your trips. We really enjoyed seeing you all even if it was brief. Seeing you three, provided an opportunity and a calender to get to new countries. We don't get to see you nearly enough but meeting up in Buenos Aires and Santiago makes up for lost time. Thank you for spoiling us rotten, it was a true treat to have friends that we adore to spend a few fun nights with. Thanks again for being a highlight to our trip!

AND NEW FRIENDS...

Here's to the new friends we made along the way. Travis and Victoria from Canada and Fletcher and Julie from Colorado are two couples that have really become people we have enjoyed seeing and hope to see more in the future. These people helped to make traveling so much funner (contrary to the photos we did more than sample beer!) and provided familiar faces that we began to look forward to seeing. Thanks for the fun times!
P.S. Just because you happen to be from Whistler and Vail doesn't mean that that is the only reason we like you.... just a major perk! Let's ski!
